Have general billing questions?  You can get answers at no charge as part of your OTAC member benefits. Should your particular situation be complicated enough to require direct intervention, extensive research, or you simply want her to handle it, you will be required to pay the standard fees for that work.

OTAC Codes of Ethics

The OTAC Code of Ethics is a public statement of the principles that guide occupational therapy practitioners in maintaining high standards of practice and conduct. With this pledge, OTAC members stand above others. Click here to download the document.

Overview of the OTAC Practice, Ethics, & Reimbursement Committee

The purpose of this Committee is to assure that occupational therapy is a reimbursable service among all applicable payer programs and to provide a communication link regarding practice, ethics, and reimbursement issues affecting occupational therapy in California between OTAC and:

• occupational therapy practitioners
• the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT) and its Practice Committee
• otehr professional organizations and agencies, community agencies and programs, and consumers

General Functions of the OTAC Practice, Ethics, & Reimbursement Committee

General functions of the Committee include:

• identify, analyze, and help resolve practice, ethics, and reimbursement issues
• monitor practice and reimbursement trends in California
• educate third party payers and employers regarding the cost and health benefits of occupational therapy intervention
• identify, develop, interpret, review, and revise documents related to practice, ethics, and reimbursement
• provide a mechanism for exchanging information on practice, ethics, and reimbursement issues at local, state, and national levels
• provide input to CBOT and its Practice Committee as appropriate relative to development, interpretation, and implementation of regulations, and practice, ethics, and reimbursement issues as an advocate and education resource for OTAC
