Balance + Breath: Keys to Stress Management
We know mindfulness can be a helpful tool for managing stress. But for people with persistent pain, history of trauma, and chronic exposure to stressful situations, mindfulness practices are often triggering and too abstract to be a practical part of the OT plan of care. Join us as we combine gentle movement, breathing, and balance to explore mindfulness as an accessible, transferable stress management skill for our patients … and ourselves.

About the Presenter
Alex Roark, MOT, OTR/L, RYT, is a resilience coach and occupational therapy practitioner with a passion for making mindfulness strategies easy for people with chronic stress, persistent pain, disabilities, and history of trauma. Roark's fingers were amputated in an accident four years into her OT career. Mindfulness, breathing practices, and gentle movement continue to be the most healing resources on her amputee journey. She's on a mission to make these practices accessible to everyone. You can find more information about her and her practice and services on her website www.InstinctHealing.com.
