Who We Are

A Member-driven, Not-for-profit Professional Association

The Occupational Therapy Association of California (OTAC) was incorporated in 1976 as the result of a merger of the southern and northern California groups. It is a not-for-profit, 501-c-6 professional society designed to be the collective voice that serves, promotes, and supports the more than 22,000 licensed occupational therapists (OTs) and occupational therapy assistants (OTAs) throughout California. We are membership driven -- a professional association by our members and for our members. Your dues ensures the strength and sustainability of this collective voice.

We Are Governed by Elected Members

OTAC is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of elected officers and regional directors. Officers are elected by the members across the state while regional directors are elected by the members from their regions. The Board of Directors approves appointment of committee chairs who in conjunction with the Board of Directors work to accomplish the Association's Strategic Plan. The work of the Association is further guided by the Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Leadership Motto. Check out the current roster of Officers/Board of Directors.
