Speak Up for OT!
Join us as we speak up for the value of occupational therapy and client access to OT services. Register today … and we will also sign you up for our virtual training and strategizing with our advocacy experts on educating the California legislator about OT.
About Advocacy Day
We are proud to sponsor a second (and virtual) OT Advocacy Day — a powerful opportunity for occupational therapy professionals and students to champion the profession and ensure that clients across California have access to qualified, appropriate OT services.
Why Advocacy Day Matters.
Advocacy Day affords you direct access to your legislators. You'll have real dialogue about the distinct value occupational therapy brings to their constituents — and together, we demonstrate the collective strength of the OT voice.
And the Best Part? It's Easy.
We handle all the heavy lifting so you can focus on what only you can do — share your story. Here's what we take care of:
- Identifying the legislative bills and issues to address
- Developing fact sheets, talking points, and leave-behind materials for legislative offices
- Scheduling virtual appointments with legislators and their staff
- Providing virtual training and advocacy coaching
- Attending every virtual legislative meeting alongside you
Your One Job: Show Up and Speak Up.
Tell legislators what OT means in your workplace. What is occupational therapy's distinct value in your setting? That authentic, professional perspective is exactly what legislators, and their staff want to hear — it's what moves the needle.
How to Participate.
Simply sign up, and we'll schedule you for a virtual training and strategy session with our advocacy experts. Then join whichever legislative appointments fit your schedule. It's that simple.
