Day in the Life Series #11 | Purpose and Value of the Doctoral Capstone

Erika Kemp

Erika Kemp, OTD, OTR/L, BCP, FAOTA, is associate professor, clinical, and interim program director of the Occupational Therapy Doctorate program in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at The Ohio State University. Kemp earned her initial occupational therapy degree from Ohio State, post-professional master’s from Boston University, and post-professional doctorate from Indiana University. She has worked primarily in pediatric settings, including outpatient, school, and community settings, as well as has experience in management in a community hospital. She enjoys supporting students and practitioners in using evidence-based practice in the community. She has served nationally as the chair of the Doctoral Capstone coordinators in the Academic Leadership Council. Kemp will begin serving as the Commission on Education chairperson in the summer of 2024. She is a lifelong chlorine addict and has an active line of research around aquatic occupational therapy with children with disabilities.
