Presenters Jessica De Brun, OTD, OTR/L, and Erin McIntyre, OTD, OTR/L Occupational therapy in community-based recuperative care helps individuals, particularly those who are unhoused, to regain independence. Occupational therapy practitioners provide a holistic, trauma-informed, and client-centered approach that addresses physical, psychological, cognitive, and social barriers that can impact clients in achieving desired success in daily life. Recuperative care has been shown to reduce hospital readmissions and emergency room use, while providing an important transitional housing opportunity that promotes healing. Come learn from our experts on how to improve client experience and outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, increase client independence and confidence, and sustain longer-term wellness and quality of life.
