Ethical decision making in occupational therapy practice is complex, given the responsibility of the occupational therapy practitioner to balance the client’s occupational interests and needs, reimbursement constraints, and practitioner skill/expertise.

This session will provide attendees with an opportunity to examine ethical issues within their practice and develop a decision-making process that can serve as a framework.

Attendees will learn to:

  1. Identify the variables that create an ethical issue within your practice.
  2. Develop an ethical problem-solving approach that upholds the AOTA Code of Ethics.
