Motivational interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, goal-oriented communication style designed to strengthen a person’s own motivation and commitment to change. This presentation will highlight how MI aligns seamlessly with the core values of occupational therapy, particularly its emphasis on client-centered practice. Participants will examine practical strategies to enhance therapeutic conversations and discover how MI can be integrated into everyday OT practice to support clients in making meaningful and sustainable changes.
