This short course will give attendees an understanding of the rights and laws of people with disabilities as put into law under the ADA, FHA, AACA, and other laws. It is these laws that allow people with disabilities to engage in occupations in the areas of work, home, public and private entities, transportation, travel, and communication.
Learning Objectives
After this course, participants will be able to:
- Recognize ADA, FHA, AACA, and other laws protecting people with disabilities at work, school, in the apartment, and community.
- List what reasonable modifications/accommodations are and how to empower your client to advocate for their needs.
- Recognize bathrooms, doorways, ramps, curb cuts, etc. to meet the ADA requirements.
