Presenter: Kelly Twichel, OTR/L, CEO Access Trax

Kelly Twichel, OTR/L, CEO Access Trax, is an occupational therapist and CEO of the award-winning accessibility startup Access Trax. As an OT student in 2016, Kelly was inspired by adaptive surfers to co-invent a portable pathway that empowers people with mobility disabilities to easily access the outdoors. In 2018, Kelly launched Access Trax which has since served families, nonprofits, events and governments worldwide.

Description: Learn how to harness your OT passion and creativity to invent in this case-study style presentation about OT entrepreneurship in assistive technology.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will understand an overview of basic steps to inventing a product and starting a business/brand around it.
  2. Participants will be able to identify at least 3-4 free small business resources and support programs.
