OTAC Special Topics Forum | Virtual Webinar

When: February 29, 2024, 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Presenters:
Theresa Comstock
Erin McIntyre, OTD, OTR/L

California's Governor and Legislature have proposed changes to the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) through a March 2024 ballot initiative. This includes a behavioral health infrastructure bond and a restructuring of the MHSA to increase housing supports and cover serious mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, and substance use disorder. If approved, this new initiative would result in the "Behavioral Health Services Act."

In this Special Topic Forum, an overview of Proposition 1 (Behavioral Health Services Act) will be provided. There will be an opportunity for dialogue regarding the potential impact of this legislation on our role as occupational therapy practitioners and the populations and communities we serve.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of at least two key elements of Proposition 1.
  2. Reflect on the potential impact of Proposition 1 on occupational therapy practice in California.
Cost: $10 for OTAC Members | $25 for OTAC Nonmembers
