OTAC Special Topics Forum | Virtual Webinar

When: July 29, 2024, 6:00pm - 7:00pm

This workshop will introduce occupational therapy practitioners and students to the basics of OT entrepreneurship and explore various business opportunities. Attendees will learn to develop a basic OT business concept, including identifying target audiences and creating unique value propositions. The workshop will also provide an opportunity to ask questions of the presenter, a successful OT entrepreneur and business owner. Ideal for practitioners and student seeking to expand their career horizons through innovative ventures.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to understand what OT entrepreneurship is and recognize its significance in the therapeutic sector.
  • Participants will be able to identify at least three potential entrepreneurial opportunities in the OT Profession.
  • Participants will be able to articulate a basic OT business idea, including target audience, unique value proposition, and key services or products.
  • Participants will be able to ask questions to the speaker regarding their concerns related to OT business.

Cost: $10 for OTAC Members | $25 for OTAC Nonmember


Hiral Khatri

Hiral Khatri, OTD, OTR/L, is a distinguished occupational therapy practitioner with over 13 years of experience. She is the founder of OT Park (@otparkbox), a pediatric occupational therapy practice dedicated to enhancing children's quality of life. She also serves as a lecturer at San Jose State University and holds prominent leadership roles in AOTPAC, AOTA, and OTAC. Khatri is deeply passionate about advancing the field of occupational therapy through research and evidence-based practice.

Her outstanding contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including the "Force for Good" award from USAHS, and recognition as one of the "Top 100 Healthcare Visionaries,""Force for Good", and "best of entrepreneurs."

Leadership in occupational therapy is Khatri's true passion. Creating and merging traditional occupational therapy approaches with the latest technology is what makes her an accomplished practitioner. She dedicates her time to giving back to the profession and supporting the OT community, local community, and kids welfare programs.
